"This print began with a simple sketch of a poppy. I was drawn to its shape in seed and bloom. For this design, the linework stays loose, a nod to hand-drawn studies rather than botanical precision. I wanted the background’s color and texture to echo the looseness of the sketched floral, adding depth without distraction. The white background is overlaid with a soft stone hue to create subtle warmth. The sketch lines of the floral outline are a charcoal black, bold enough to define the form but soft enough to still feel hand-drawn and imperfect. My aim was to select a color palette that creates a sharper contrast without losing the natural and timeworn element."
